4. Sign an LPI ATP agreement and pay the annual fee.
Detail
1. Obtain an LPI ATP agreement document
The LPI ATP agreement can be obtained
from Stephen Aitken stephen.aitken@openforumeurope.org
of OFE. You should read this to see that you are happy with the
conditions.
2. Use LPI approved Training materials
If you don’t already have LPI approved training materials these can be obtained from several sources see Training Materials
If you want to get your own Linux training materials approved they must be submitted to either:
ProCert in USA
SerNet in Germany Dr. Kevin Ivory (latm@sernet.de)
Please check with them for their fees.
3. Use LPI Certified Instructors, LCI
You must use LPI Certified Instructors, LCI or provide proof of professional training as a computer instructor.
In classroom learning, there will be at least one instructor (contract or employee) in the organization that is certified on each LPI level the that they are providing training for.
Each training organization will be allowed some flexibility and ramp up time on the TOTAL number of certified individuals required based on organization size and market share, which will be decided on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of LPI.
To get certified the trainers need to be tested. They will need to visit a Linux Professional Institute Testing Test Centre run by Prometric or Pearson VUE. Lists of those in the UK can be found at Prometric and www.vue.com
4.
Sign an LPI ATP agreement and pay the annual fee.
This is an agreement between your organisation and OFE who are LPI’s affiliates for the UK and Ireland. In signing it you will be committing to continuing use of approved training materials and LPI Certified Instructors, adhering to a code of ethics, and various other conditions, which will give you the right to use the LPI logo and receive marketing support form OFE and LPI in the UK.
The LPI ATP accreditation fee is £350 p.a. for a commercial training organisation or £135 p.a. for an academic training partner. Payment can be made by cheque or BACS to OpenForum Europe.
If you need advice on any of the above please contact Stephen Aitken, stephen.aitken@openforumeurope.org or 07866 36 1233 who is project managing the approval process on behalf of OFE.
