About_OS

Introduction

This is the main Web site for The Open Forum Europe, its aim is to encourage the use of Open Source software throughout the EU. If you have any comments about this site please send them to admin@openforumeurope.org

Audiences

The audiences for this site are SMEs across the EU and system suppliers to European businesses.

Who:

  • don't use Open Source but want to know more about it
  • use Open source and are willing to share their experience
  • wish to be an active participant in the Open Source commons projects

Accessibility

The site has initially been developed using the out of the box accessibility features of Zope/Plone and is designed to work across a wide range of different computers and screen resolutions. The Web site has been designed to be visually consistent in a variety of different browsing software.

It is our intention that further improvements will be made to ensure this site complies with best practise taking into account the developing accessibility guidelines and standards . If you have any comments about this site please send them to webmaster@openforumeurope.org

Development Team

The site has been designed and is managed by OpenForum Europe


The Zope website development was provided by Zope Europe Association and carried out by OpenWeb Solution and  REFLAB, the server hosting is provided by AMAZE Internet services.

Server Technology

  • The web servers are Dell

  • The Operating System is Debian version of Linux.

  • The Application server is Zope

  • The Content Management System is Plone
  • The Scripting language is Python

  • The Database is PostgreSQL
