OFE’s Presence at the Open Source Summit Europe 2020

For those of you who are interested in hearing the latest in public policy and Open Source, we would like to highlight our participation at the Linux Foundation’s Open Source Summit Europe 26-29 October.

Tuesday, October 27, 21:30 CET

Our Policy Director Astor Nummelin Carlberg will take part in a panel discussing Exploration of Open Source Program Offices (OSPOs) in EU Governments and how they can be leveraged as powerful and flexible constructs for organizations to achieve their policy goals around Open Source.

Wednesday, October 28, 14:00 CET

Policy Analyst Paula Grzegorzewska and Research Director Sivan Pätsch will give a talk named ‘Give Open Source the Weight it Deserves in Public Policy’. The talk is based on their work with over 100 researchers around the world in the context of the European Commission study on the impact of Open Source Software and Hardware on technological independence, competitiveness and innovation in the EU economy, conducted by Fraunhofer ISI and OpenForum Europe.

Wednesday, October 28. 16:55 CET

Finally, our CEO Sachiko Muto is giving a keynote on Open Source policy in Europe. She will discuss how it came to be that policymakers’ are now looking to Open Source to solve strategic challenges for Europe and how this moment can be and should be captured as we are entering Europe’s Digital Decade.
